Pelindo III CEO Ari Askhara said that the development of land accessibility in the form of flyover and tapper (radius for road curve) at Lamong Bay Terminal, Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya will further enhance economic growth in Surabaya and East Java as it is also integrated with Surabaya-Gresik Toll Road.
"This flyover will provide a new alternative for highway users - mainly trucks carrying containers - which is often one of the causes of traffic density along Kalianak Road to Tambak Osowilangun", he said.
The Rp1.3 trillion project will realize a 2.4 km flyover with elevated contours of 1.8 km and landed on Benowo's 363 meter side and 350 meters long Lamong Bay side. As for the width of the flyover road is 40 meters.
Pelindo III Engineering, Information and Communication Technology Director Husein Latief added that the development of this flyover is a solution given by Pelindo III to the Surabaya and national governments to support the very high economic growth post-operation of Teluk Lamong terminal.
"The capacity of Teluk Lamong in the early phase of development has reached 1.5 million TEUs. In the final phase, the number of [containers] will reach 6.5 million TEUs. Meanwhile, dry bulk commodity at Lamong Bay Terminal also shows a very bright prospect. We have built a dry bulk commodity storage area with a capacity of 200 thousand tons, "he added.
Later, the flyover project work will include Detailed Engeneering Design (DED) planning activities or detailed technical designs to technical development implementation. In terms of construction, Wika will use the "unibridge" bridge system, which is a composite girder bridge that uses pins on each inter-girder connection with a modular concept.
This system does not require periodic toning, as is the use of bolts in conventional models. In addition, the bridge material has a compact and lightweight design, as well as more efficient and faster in its development process.
On the same occasion, Pelindo III also entered into an agreement with PT Asuransi Kredit Indonesia (Persero) or Askrindo in terms of risk guarantee for assets owned by Pelindo III.
With a total premium of Rp 11,274 billion, Pelindo III will secure risk coverage on seven targets including: building, mooring facility, loading and unloading operation, marine mapping equipment operation.
